About the Author:

Tanya Hodge, MS, RN, CNS, CCRN, CNRN, is a cardiovascular clinical nurse specialist, certified critical care nurse, and certified neuroscience registered nurse. She has worked clinically in a variety of settings, including cardiac telemetry, transplant/metabolic care, cardiology intensive care, neuroscience intensive care, and cardiovascular research at the University of California, Davis Medical Center, Mercy General Hospital, and Mercy San Juan Medical Center. She was a cardiovascular clinical nurse specialist and nurse manager at Mercy General Hospital in Sacramento, California, between 2007 and 2016. Since 2016, she has been working as a clinical nurse and as a clinical nurse specialist at Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Carmichael, California. She is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
